Snap Inc. has inaugurated its new office in Doha’s Msheireb district, marking a key milestone in the company’s regional expansion and its support for Qatar’s digital transformation efforts.
The opening ceremony was attended by Snap Inc. founder and CEO Evan Spiegel, alongside Sheikh Jassim bin Mansour bin Jabor Al-Thani, director of Qatar’s Government Communications Office. The new base aims to strengthen Snap’s partnerships across the Gulf and foster a growing ecosystem for creators and digital entrepreneurs.
The move follows a memorandum of understanding signed earlier this year between Snap Inc. and Qatar’s GCO to establish the Middle East’s first Augmented Reality (AR) Academy, which will train young creators in immersive digital technologies.
Snap said the expansion reflects its commitment to innovation and regional talent development, noting that Snapchat users in the Gulf open the app more than 45 times a day on average, with 85 percent engaging daily with AR experiences.
