Bilawal’s X post informed the ruling PML-N MPs of the 27th Amendment

According to the sources, the PML-N did not consult its lawmakers on the proposal. According to the sources, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s post on X taught several PML-N lawmakers about the 27th Amendment and its provisions. They claimed that the PPP Chairman’s social media post surprised them and that his statement on X provided them with knowledge and facts regarding the amendment. They went so far as to claim that the ruling PML-N failed to convene a meeting of the party’s working committee to address the matter.

However, during its Central Executive Committee (CEC) meeting, the PPP, a major government ally, will determine whether to back the government on the 27th Amendment. According to reports cited by News Channel, the Senate is expected to consider the 27th Amendment on November 7. Both the Senate and the National Assembly, the two houses of parliament, will have a discussion, according to sources. According to the sources, the amendment would probably be put up for vote on November 10 for approval following the discussion. The Senate session will resume on the holiday, according to the sources.

According to the sources, the proposed 27th Amendment would be debated on Friday and Saturday. The constitutional change would then be forwarded to the appropriate committee following its presentation in both houses. However, the sources also stated that the Senate session will continue until November 14.
