Alex Winter is open about his collaboration with Keanu Reeves

Alex Winter has shared his thoughts about collaborating on a future project with longtime friend and collaborator Keanu Reeves. He is also discussing the unique and enduring bond he has with Reeves. In a recent interview with The Guardian, Winter expressed his appreciation for their “no bulls***” relationship, which has endured since their Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure days. The two recently got back together for a Broadway production of Waiting for Godot. Winter, 60, said that the only reason he felt comfortable joining the show was because he was working with Reeves, whom he referred to as his “lifesaver.”

He remarked, “I knew this was a huge undertaking, and the only reason I felt we could pull it off was the two of us together.” Working with Reeves provides “an immediate sense of comfort,” the actor continued. He can trust me, and I know I can trust him. We truly support one another. Bullshit doesn’t exist. Winter also described their creative rhythm as a fluid give-and-take, comparing it to “being in a band.” It’s this fluid exchange of ideas. He occasionally catches up with me while I’m cooking. Sometimes he’s cooking while I’m catching up.”

“On occasion, we are pulling each other out of a difficult situation. Sometimes we look at each other and think, “Goddamn, that was good,” when we’re just in a f****** groove. Where on earth did that originate?
