Dubai’s ambitious Blue Line Metro project is picking up speed, with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) confirming that construction is set to reach 30% completion by the end of 2026. The 30-kilometre route, which will feature 14 stations, aims to connect vital areas across the city from Al Jaddaf and Festival City to Dubai Silicon Oasis and Academic City.
Since work began in mid-2025, the project has already achieved nearly 10% progress, with more than 400,000 cubic metres of excavation completed and major groundwork underway. Over 3,000 workers and 500 engineers are currently involved across 12 sites.
Once fully operational in September 2029, the Blue Line is expected to serve around one million residents, reduce traffic congestion, and provide faster access to key destinations, including Dubai International Airport. The project marks a major step in Dubai’s plan to enhance public transport and support the city’s Urban Plan 2040 vision.
