Strong community participation and fresh energy mark the nationwide initiative’s 24th cycle. Sharjah: On December 10, the 24th cycle of the Clean UAE campaign visited Sharjah for the third time, gathering a sizable and passionate crowd. The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment sponsored the event, which was organized by the Emirates Environmental Group (EEG) in collaboration with Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services. Several government agencies, including Sharjah Municipality (represented by Al Bataeh Area Municipality) and Sharjah Police, provided support.
Following successful events in Dubai and Fujairah, the campaign entered Sharjah with renewed vigor. By bringing their musical band, Sharjah Police offered a festive touch that helped create a lively atmosphere and boost volunteers’ moods all day. A demonstration of community spirit Approximately 1,900 people participated in the cleanup at various locations in Sharjah. The participants, who included families, students, and employees from different institutions, worked using cotton gloves and biodegradable bags that the organizers provided. They also wore cotton T-shirts and caps.
Teams collected 1,237 kg of general waste over a large 10 km section of open ground. 550 kilograms of paper, 56 kg of plastic, 23 kg of glass, and 20 kg of scrap metal were the recyclables that were meticulously separated.
