The UAE denounces a drone strike on a Sudanese peacekeeping camp in Kadugli

The Ministry sent the victims’ families its deepest sympathies and condolences. Abu Dhabi: Members of the Bangladeshi contingent serving in the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA) were killed and injured in a drone attack that targeted a logistics base in the Republic of Sudan’s city of Kadugli. The attack was strongly denounced by the United Arab Emirates. The UAE’s strong condemnation of this horrible attack and its unwavering rejection of all forms of violence intended to undermine security and stability were reaffirmed in a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA).

Additionally, the Ministry emphasized that the targeting of UNISFA is against international law and UN Security Council resolution 2802, reiterating the UAE’s strong condemnation of attacks on peacekeeping forces. The Ministry affirmed its support for global initiatives aimed at preserving security, stability, and peace as well as at delivering humanitarian aid in crisis areas. It also underlined the UAE’s complete solidarity with the UN international peacekeeping forces and the participating nations. The Ministry sent its deepest sympathies and condolences to the families of the victims, the Bangladeshi people and interim government, and the UN. It also wished everyone who was hurt a quick recovery.
