The 22-year-old singer disclosed that she used to write One Direction fan fiction in elementary school and that she actually hung out with Styles years later during her recent interview on the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s podcast Music Makes Us on Tuesday, December 16. When I was in elementary school, I used to write fan fiction about One Direction. Olivia Rodrigo said, “I hung out with Harry Styles many years later, and we got tea and we walked around.”
“And I got home, and I was like, ‘What the f—?'” she went on. That seems like something I created in fan fiction, and now I’ve experienced it firsthand. How something might occur in your life is absolutely absurd. The Deja vu singer continued to gush about him, calling him “sweet,” before saying that she would respond, “Shut the f— up, you’re lying,” if she told her 10-year-old self he was in her future.
