Rain, high winds, and choppy waters are predicted for the UAE

This weekend, a low-pressure system is expected to bring rains, strong gusts, and choppy waves. Dubai: As a surface low-pressure system spreads throughout the nation on Saturday, bolstered by an upper-air low-pressure system, the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has predicted erratic weather throughout the United Arab Emirates. Authorities will issue safety cautions for residents and drivers due to the weather pattern, which is predicted to bring periods of cloud cover, rainfall in some regions, and gusty gusts.

The possibility of rain and cloudy sky

The NCM predicts partly overcast to cloudy skies with convective cloud development in several areas of the nation. There will probably be sporadic rainfall, especially in the northern and eastern parts.

In certain places, these clouds may form quickly, resulting in brief yet heavy downpours. Although cloud cover may reduce midday heating in certain locations, temperatures are predicted to stay within seasonal averages.

High winds and poor visibility

The winds will be moderate to fresh, and they could occasionally get strong, especially in the vicinity of cloud formations. Horizontal visibility may be diminished by blowing sand and dust, especially in inland and open spaces.

Residents are urged to exercise caution, particularly when traveling, as unexpected wind gusts and poor visibility could be dangerous on the roadways.

Cautions for safety

As dangerous weather conditions are predicted, the NCM has advised the public to remain vigilant. It is recommended that people who are going outside exercise caution and follow the directions given by the appropriate authorities. Drivers are advised to refrain from using a vehicle unless absolutely required. If delaying travel is not an option, drivers should slow down, keep a safe distance, and switch to low-beam headlights when vision is poor. The public was also urged by the center to pay strict attention to weather updates via official channels.

Marine caution and rough seas

The NCM issued a warning about choppy seas in a different alert. The public has been encouraged to keep a close eye on official weather bulletins and to refrain from swimming, diving, and other marine activities during such conditions. The NCM also emphasized the significance of relying only on confirmed updates and preventing the spread of rumors.

Sunday, December 21: Coastal locations may see rain.

Overall, Sunday is predicted to be partly cloudy, with low clouds building over several western and coastal regions as well as islands. Rainfall is possible, particularly in the vicinity of the coast. While humidity will persist over night and into Monday morning, temperatures will rise somewhat during the day. Light to moderate winds will blow from southwesterly to northwesterly, with occasional freshening and top speeds of 35 km/h. In the Arabian Gulf, the sea will be choppy; in the Oman Sea, it will be choppy to moderate.

Monday through Wednesday: Slow progress

Conditions are anticipated to progressively stabilize starting on Monday, December 22. The sky will continue to be partially cloudy, with low clouds occasionally forming over western regions and islands. Throughout the night and into the early morning, the humidity will rise. The winds will change from northeast to southeast, staying light to moderate with occasional strengthening. By Tuesday and Wednesday, the sea conditions will have steadily improved to moderate to modest.

Early in the morning, especially between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, mist may gather over some internal western regions. Until conditions completely improve, residents are recommended to be informed, make careful travel plans, and take the appropriate precautions.
