The giant hub of ADNOC blends smart mobility, speed, and scale. Abu Dhabi: The United Arab Emirates opened one of the biggest ultra-fast EV charging stations in the world on Monday. The UAE’s top mobility and convenience retailer, ADNOC Distribution, detailed its plan to electrify the country’s highway network by the end of 2027 and announced the opening of the sixth-largest superfast EV charging facility in the world.
The announcement is made ahead of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW), when world leaders will meet in Abu Dhabi to talk about the future of sustainable infrastructure and energy. This achievement is a reflection of ADNOC Group’s larger dedication to developing sustainable energy solutions, which maximizes beneficial effect both now and in the future by utilizing intelligence and creativity. The EV Mega hub, which is strategically situated near Saih Shuaib on the E11 highway between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, has 60 high-speed charging stations that can charge the majority of EVs from 0 to 80 percent in around 20 minutes.
At the center of an ambitious plan to construct highway EV infrastructure throughout the United Arab Emirates is the EV Mega hub, the largest superfast EV charging station in the Middle East, Africa, and Turkey and the sixth largest worldwide. According to this plan, ADNOC Distribution intends to establish 20 EV charging hubs by the end of 2027, with 15 of them anticipated to be operational by the end of 2026. These hubs would offer comprehensive charging services along all major national highways in the United Arab Emirates. The nation’s shift to smarter, more sustainable mobility is supported by this infrastructure, which is a vital enabler of smooth, long-distance EV travel.
“The opening of ADNOC Distribution’s EV Megahub is a significant step in implementing the UAE’s National Electric Vehicles Policy and advancing our vision for sustainable mobility across the nation,” stated Eng. Sharif Al Olama, Undersecretary for Energy and Petroleum Affairs at the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure. This hub, which offers integrated services for road users and intercity commuters, is notable for its advantageous location on the E11 highway, one of the most important corridors in the nation.
“Our strategy to reduce energy consumption in transportation and drive the transformative ‘Global EV Market’ initiative, which aims to see electric vehicles represent 50% of all cars on UAE roads by 2050, is centered on expanding the high-speed charging network,” he continued. These initiatives go beyond infrastructure; they speed up the country’s shift to a green mobility environment and establish new international standards for sustainable, intelligent transportation.
“ADNOC Distribution has powered journeys since 1973, and today we are building the future of mobility with the UAE’s largest superfast EV charging hub,” stated ADNOC Distribution CEO Eng. Bader Saeed Al Lamki. In addition to being the first The Hub by ADNOC location specifically designed to meet the demands of intercity commuters, our first EV Mega hub is ideally situated along a crucial roadway that keeps our country moving. With the help of our expanding E2GO network, we are redefining convenience as more customers opt for electric vehicles so they can travel the nation with confidence.
50% of all cars on UAE roadways must be battery-electric by 2050, according to an ambitious goal established by the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure. With more than 400 charging stations deployed and a goal of up to 750 by 2028, ADNOC Distribution’s E2GO network, one of the biggest charge point operators (CPOs) in the nation, is expediting this objective. The EV Megahub launch also marks the introduction of the first The Hub by ADNOC location specifically designed for commuters, building on the successful launch of The Hub by ADNOC concept last November with an emphasis on communities. Compared to conventional service stations, its footprint is three times greater.
The Hub by ADNOC is a place where convenience meets pleasure by fusing food and lifestyle options with gasoline and EV charging. This facility, which is the first to have a coworking area, reinforces the E11 Megahub site’s commuter focus by offering clients a practical, cozy setting to work and communicate while traveling between the two biggest cities in the United Arab Emirates. A key component of ADNOC Distribution’s plan to revolutionize roadside retail and provide everyone with future-ready travel is the Hub by ADNOC idea.
In accordance with projected demand, ADNOC Distribution keeps making investments in cutting-edge mobility technologies. Its plans for wider expansion and the installation of highway hubs are intended to satisfy present demands while permitting future growth in accordance with national electrification objectives. With over 560 locations across the UAE – the largest service station network in the country – ADNOC Distribution is well positioned to develop EV infrastructure economically and sustainably.
