The UAE reiterates its support for political development and stability in Gaza. Abu Dhabi: The second phase of the comprehensive peace plan for Gaza and the official creation of the Palestinian National Committee to administer the Gaza Strip as a temporary transitional body established in accordance with United Nations Security Council Resolution 2803 were both welcomed by Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation.

Al Hashimy praised U.S. President Donald Trump’s formation of a Peace Council in a statement, characterizing it as a helpful framework for strengthening stability and advancing the political process. She praised Trump’s leadership in this regard as well as the persistent efforts at mediation spearheaded by Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey, which she claimed had been crucial in enhancing the region’s chances for stability and peace. Al Hashimy took delight in her appointment to the Gaza Executive Council, pointing out that the choice is a reflection of the world’s faith in the UAE’s diplomatic strategy and its longstanding support of peace initiatives.

According to her, the nomination demonstrates the nation’s commitment to transforming difficult political and humanitarian issues into real opportunity for the people of Gaza and the surrounding area. “The UAE believes that effective governance in Gaza and coordinated international action are necessary to achieve lasting peace,” she stated. “This must support a credible peace process that leads to a more secure and prosperous future for the region, strengthen stability, and guarantee the legitimate rights and aspirations of the Palestinian people.” She emphasized the significance of building on the gains gained under the Gaza peace plan and pursuing the restart of an all-encompassing political process that would result in a two-state solution and a fair and long-lasting resolution.
