Louis Tomlinson describes how he received a “free promo” for his new album from Taylor Swift

Louis Tomlinson and Taylor Swift

Louis Tomlinson disclosed that a lighthearted approach to his new album’s advertising inadvertently caused Taylor Swift fans to speculate, providing him what he referred to as “free promo.” On Thursday, January 22, the former One Direction singer made an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where he talked about the release of his most recent album, How Did I Get Here?, which came out the next day. According to Tomlinson, the endeavor changed his perception of himself as an artist. He told Fallon, “I felt really comfortable making it.” “I had a great time during the procedure. Even though it was something new for me, I enjoyed doing the promo.

Then, Louis Tomlinson acknowledged that part of the promotional material for his most recent album wasn’t even intentional. Easter eggs were dropped ahead of the album’s first track, Lemonade, as part of that promotional fun. Although the hints were meant for his own fan base, Swifties were unintentionally drawn to them, and some of them conjectured that they were related to a Taylor Swift release. “Watching people rush for that stuff is entertaining.” Another interesting aspect of it was that Taylor Swift’s followers appeared a little perplexed, believing it had anything to do with her album. He grinned freely and remarked, “So, I got free promo.”
