Speaking to the Senate, the DPM claimed that the previous administration had opened Pakistan’s border with Afghanistan on the pretense of that “cup of tea.” Up to 100 severe criminals were also freed, according to Ishaq Dar, who continued to denounce the old PTI government without naming it. He told the house that his Afghan counterpart, Amir Khan Muttaqi, had called him six times. Dar filed a complaint on behalf of Pakistan, requesting that “no terrorist activities be launched from their soil.” He said that this act of terrorism coming from Afghanistan has disappointed him as a supporter of the Islamic nation.
Positively, he expressed hope that when the two parties reconvene in Istanbul on November 6, the process will proceed. He said that recent talks with Afghanistan’s interim administration, which took place in Qatar and Turkey, were centered on involving Afghan authorities in the fight against cross-border militancy. He pointed out that terrorist organizations operating from Afghan territory, including Fitna al-Khawarij, Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), and Fitna al-Hindustan BLA, are carrying out acts of terrorism against Pakistan. Ishaq Dar stressed that Pakistan provided hard proof of these organizations’ involvement in attacks on Pakistani territory during these discussions, which were sponsored by the friendly countries of Turkey and Qatar.
