Dubai The General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai (GDRFA Dubai) is sponsoring a series of national and community events to celebrate the long-standing fraternal connections between the United Arab Emirates and the State of Kuwait, under the theme “UAE and Kuwait: Brothers Forever.” The effort is a reflection of the strong cultural, humanitarian, and historical ties that bind the two countries and their people together. In order to improve human connection and commemorate the anniversary, GDRFA Dubai has started symbolic projects at Dubai’s airports as part of the festivities. Arrival halls have been decked in the colors of the Kuwaiti flag, and arriving passengers are greeted with a unique passport stamp bearing the campaign tagline. Additionally, there is now a designated arrival lane with campaign signage, both national flags, and pictures of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Amir of the State of Kuwait, His Highness Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. The arrival experience is transformed into a celebration of Gulf unity and shared identity as visitors are welcomed with symbolic presents and by the national mascots, “Salem and Salama.”
at tandem, a number of Kuwaiti retail establishments will participate at GDRFA Dubai’s Souq Al-Mubarakiya at Al Khawaneej Walk from January 29 to February 1. The event offers Dubai locals and tourists an immersive cultural experience that combines heritage, commerce, and community involvement by recreating the ambiance of Kuwait’s traditional heritage market. The souq is a component of a larger program of events intended to showcase the humanitarian and cultural connections between the two friendly countries and foster interpersonal relationships in a family-friendly environment. The initiative is in accordance with the directives of the UAE’s astute leadership, which continuously highlight the depth and strength of Emirati-Kuwaiti relations—a connection based on mutual support, shared history, and enduring Gulf solidarity since the founding fathers’ time.
The Director General of GDRFA Dubai, Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, commented on the event, saying that the authority’s involvement shows how well the two nations get along. “Emirati-Kuwaiti relations are deeply rooted bonds of brotherhood built on loyalty, shared principles, and decades of cooperation,” he stated. “Our involvement reflects our belief that this brotherhood is a living partnership that we translate into human-centered initiatives expressing appreciation for Kuwait, its leadership, and its people, rather than just a part of history.” Al Marri continued, “The initiative is in line with GDRFA Dubai’s mission to promote human values and reinforce Dubai’s image as a city that celebrates fraternity and cultural partnerships, transforming national occasions into meaningful experiences for both residents and visitors.”
GDRFA Dubai reiterated that the festivities are a reflection of its institutional position as an active partner in national efforts that bolster Gulf identity and promote the UAE’s goal of fostering greater stability, collaboration, and shared development among GCC nations.
