Glen Powell discussed why he found the role of “Chad Powers” particularly meaningful. As he prepares for a new era in television, Glen Powell is reflecting positively on his breakthrough role. The Twisters star talked about his most recent project, Chad Powers, which he co-created and executive produced, while reflecting on his early days on Scream Queens in a recent interview with PEOPLE Magazine. Powell stated that he didn’t approach the Scream Queens creator while developing his new program, adding, “I actually did not talk to Ryan [Murphy] about all this, but Ryan’s still a great buddy.”
“There was a really special period in my life when I didn’t really have a lot going on, and that character, that Chad.” The actor remembers being a part of the Fox horror comedy’s star-studded cast during its two seasons in 2015 and 2016. “I got to be a part of this really stellar cast of all these exciting people, and it was an amazing moment,” he said. “I was the unknown member of this cast, along with Emma Roberts, Lea Michele, Keke Palmer, and Jamie Lee Curtis.” Powell described the experience as “so cool” and mentioned that he has remained in contact with several of his former co-stars over the years.
He concluded by saying, “I’m so happy that I get to come back to TV in this way with a show that’s just as fun.”
