Islamabad: Kazakhstan has expressed keen interest in importing 50,000 tons of potatoes from Pakistan. According to the Ministry of Commerce, this development was possible after Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif spoke with the President of Kazakhstan. A timeline of April to June 2026 has been set for the export of potatoes, Pakistani exporters will ensure the supply of quality potatoes to Kazakhstani importers. According to the Ministry of Commerce, consultations on technical and commercial matters have also been completed between the relevant authorities of the two countries for this purpose. Pakistan’s agricultural sector, especially potato production, has export potential, and Kazakhstan’s interest in importing large quantities is welcome for Pakistani farmers and the export sector.
