While his legal team gets ready to appeal the conviction, Combs insists he is innocent. Sean “Diddy” Combs will be incarcerated until May 8, 2028, the Federal Bureau of Prisons said. The 55-year-old recording magnate was found guilty on two counts relating to prostitution and given a 50-month prison sentence earlier this month. The former CEO of Bad Boy Records entered a not guilty plea to all of the allegations and is still adamant about his innocence. In an attempt to reverse the conviction and the four-year term, his lawyers have sent a notice of appeal to the Federal District Court of New York.
The punishment comes after Combs was found not guilty of more serious offenses, such as sex trafficking and racketeering, in a mixed judgment following an eight-week trial in July. If his appeal is denied, Combs is anticipated to be in detention for just over three years, taking into account time already served. Since his arrest last year, Combs has been detained at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center. He is still there today.
