Trump Threatens to Sue Trevor Noah After Epstein Joke at Grammy Awards

U.S. President Donald Trump has threatened to take legal action against comedian and TV host Trevor Noah after a joke made during the 68th Grammy Awards that referenced Trump in connection with the late financier Jeffrey Epstein.

Trump took to his social platform Truth Social to denounce Noah’s remarks, calling the ceremony “virtually unwatchable” and labeling Noah a “poor, pathetic, talentless dope of an M.C.” He said he plans to “send my lawyers” to sue Noah, denying ever having visited Epstein’s private island or having any involvement with him. Trump added he could not speak for former President Bill Clinton, who was also mentioned in the joke.

During the Grammys, Noah quipped that winning a Grammy was something artists want “almost as much as Trump wants Greenland,” adding, “since Epstein’s island is gone, he needs a new one to hang out with Bill Clinton.” The comment drew laughter from the audience but sparked an angry response from Trump.

The controversy comes amid renewed public focus on Epstein-related documents recently released by the U.S. Justice Department that contain references to multiple high-profile figures, although Trump has denied wrongdoing in connection with Epstein’s crimes.
