A$AP A $1.1 million lawsuit has been filed against Rocky for allegedly causing significant water damage to nearby apartments during repairs in his penthouse in New York City. The 37-year-old musician, whose actual name is Rakim Mayers, contracted ADE Pro Painting for repair work in December 2024, according to court records submitted to the Manhattan Supreme Court on October 30. numerous hot water pipes in and near his apartment are said to have burst on December 23, flooding numerous apartments below.
A neighbor filed the lawsuit under the name Chez Ni LLC, claiming that the water rendered their home unusable for months and caused “destructive” and “substantial” damage to their furnishings and fixtures. The neighbor is requesting $200,000 for temporary lodging expenses while repairs are being done, as well as $900,000 for property damage. Additionally, they assert that the building board charged them an extra $42,000 for dehumidifiers and cleanup, which they contend should have been paid for by A$AP Rocky or the condo association. Rocky’s unit’s beneficial owner, Tyson Beem, and the condo board, ADE Pro Painting, are named as defendants in the complaint.
Residents were evicted from their homes starting on Christmas Eve 2024, according to the neighbor’s lawyer, who also stated that “neither Mr. Mayers nor any of the parties have accepted responsibility.”
