The agreement intends to develop a framework for federal–provincial partnership to speed digital governance, better service delivery, and create a unified national digital ecosystem. Minister for IT & Telecom Shaza Fatima observed the ceremony when the Additional Secretary MoITT and the CEO of Sindh IT Company signed the Memorandum of Understanding. As the sponsoring agency under the MoU, MoITT will manage project execution across the country and supply funds, technical assistance, and policy support. The Pakistan Business Portal, Digital Vaults, Pakistan Digital ID, the National Digital Services Portal, and the National Data Exchange Layer are important projects.
Speaking at the event, the Minister stated that the introduction of DEEP in Sindh is a significant step in the direction of the common goal of a digital Pakistan. Along with enhancing governance and service delivery, this project will open up new avenues for growth and innovation. In addition, he paid respect to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and hailed the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC). The minister claimed that the Prime Minister’s Digital Nation vision still serves as a roadmap for creating a technologically advanced, inclusive, and networked Pakistan. By collaborating with provincial government organizations on data integration, infrastructure support, and capacity building, Sindh IT Company will enable the local implementation of DEEP components.
The objective of this collaboration is to facilitate digital transformation throughout Sindh and guarantee that provincial stakeholders have the necessary resources to implement contemporary governance instruments. The partnership is a significant step forward for Pakistan’s digital economy. DEEP will provide effective, transparent, and citizen-centric digital services that benefit Sindh’s citizens in the long run by coordinating national and provincial initiatives.
