ISLAMABAD: According to a NAB spokeswoman, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has given a staggering Rs 1.2 billion to victims of private housing schemes as part of a significant relief effort, as reported by News Channel. According to NAB Chairman Lt. Gen. (Retd) Nazir Ahmed Butt, the victims were plundered using fictitious allotments and documents. He mentioned that NAB’s hard work has finally settled a disagreement that had been ongoing since 2006. The Chairman asked people to exclusively put their hard-earned money into housing projects that the government has approved.
The official described how the money was distributed, saying that 476 affected parties received Rs 341 million through pay orders and internet transactions during the first round. Surprisingly, victims got 2.5 times their initial investment back. A total of Rs 1.209 billion will be distributed to 2,200 affected individuals. In the meantime, the anti-corruption organization has started the process of verifying new applicants. NAB reiterated its dedication to making sure that no affected party is denied their just compensation. The Chairman announced Umrah packages and appreciation shields for the relevant NAB officials in acknowledgment of this exceptional performance. After a 20-year battle, the agency was able to uncover and retrieve the offenders’ concealed assets.
