Islamabad: The Chinese Government Scholarship – High-Level Postgraduate Program 2026 (Type B) for Master’s and PhD studies at Tianjin University, China, has been announced by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan. The completely financed fellowship is available to exceptional Pakistani students studying engineering, science, business, humanities, and social sciences, according to information posted by HEC on social media. Attracting exceptional overseas candidates to undertake postgraduate studies in China is the goal of this fiercely competitive program. The deadline for applications is January 18, 2026. There are now 104 Master’s and 125 PhD programs offered by Tianjin University, with 29 Master’s and 55 PhD programs taught in English.
For both Master’s and PhD students, the scholarship provides complete tuition, housing or lodging subsidies, health insurance, and a monthly stipend of CNY 3,500. The cost of international travel is not covered.
SCHOLARSHIP DURATION
Subject to excellent academic performance, the scholarship is granted for the duration of the degree.
REQUIREMENTS
A minimum GPA of 3.2 out of 4.0 or its equivalent is required of applicants. A minimum of one published research paper is a requirement for PhD candidates. For English-taught programs, language competency requirements include IELTS (6.0) or TOEFL (80); for Chinese-taught programs, HSK Level 5 is required. Candidates must fulfill the program’s linguistic and academic criteria.
