‘Excited’ Reese Witherspoon Opens Up About Birthday Plans with 13-Year-Old Son
Reese Witherspoon is preparing to celebrate her 50th birthday in a way that feels personal and special.
The actress, who turns 50 on March 22, revealed she is planning a mother-son trip to Europe with her 13-year-old son, Tennessee, whom she shares with ex-husband Jim Toth.
In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Witherspoon said she is looking forward to visiting friends in Italy and enjoying some relaxed travel. “It’s just me and him — I’m excited about it!” she added.
As she steps into a new decade, Witherspoon expressed comfort and confidence in her life and career.
“I like getting older,” she said, noting that she values the wisdom and stability that come with age. “I think it’s great to be wiser and understand your place in a business. I’ve worked really hard to get to that place… I feel like I’m living my purpose, for sure. I love my job. I love my fans. I’m the captain of my own destiny.”
Reflecting on motherhood, Witherspoon discussed the challenges she faced raising her first child, Ava Phillippe, now 26, after giving birth in 1999. She opened up about her struggles with postpartum depression.
“It was really bad,” she said, describing how the first six months with Ava were both joyful and emotionally intense. “I just cried all the time, I was up all night, I was exhausted. It was a hormone drop I didn’t expect, which I experienced right after birth and again when I stopped nursing six months later.”
Witherspoon also spoke about the pressure of parenting under constant outside opinions. “Everyone has an opinion,” she explained. “It’s inundating.”
Over time, her approach to parenting has evolved, particularly with Tennessee. On The Interview podcast, she admitted feeling “exhausted” after 25 years of motherhood. “I’m completely wrung-out and tired,” she shared, noting that she sometimes leans on her older children, Ava and 22-year-old Deacon Phillippe, for support.
She added, “Whenever I lose my cool, I turn to my youngest and I go, ‘You got to call your brother and sister. They wore me out. I’m so tired. Like, eat the cookie. Go to bed late. Just do it… but like, think about how it’s going to make you feel.’”
Despite the challenges, Witherspoon remains grounded and warm about her role as a mother. She laughed about her long journey in parenting, saying, “I’ve been parenting for 25 years.”
With a milestone birthday approaching, travel plans with her youngest son, and reflections on her motherhood journey, the Morning Show star appears ready to embrace 50 with gratitude, clarity, and a healthy sense of humor.
Britney Spears Deletes Instagram Account Amid Viral Video Concerns
Britney Spears has unexpectedly deactivated her Instagram account, making it inaccessible as of Sunday.
Fans trying to visit her profile see the message, “Sorry, this page isn’t available to view,” with Instagram noting that the page “may have been removed.”
Her account on X remains active.
This sudden move comes after recent worries about Spears’ behavior following a video showing her driving erratically late last month.
In footage obtained by Page Six, Spears was seen swerving in her black BMW convertible while heading home with a female friend, even crossing the center divider at one point.
Earlier that evening, Spears and her friend reportedly stopped at Red O restaurant in Westlake, California. A restaurant manager, Oliver Wynn, who served them said Spears appeared calm and sober. “She was super chill and really nice,” Wynn said, adding that he was surprised by her kindness and that he had “never really seen a celebrity be as nice as Britney was.”
After the video went viral, Spears posted a cryptic message on Instagram, seemingly denying the incident. “If anyone is wondering the lookalike was not me…,” she wrote.
Despite her post, the video sparked concern among her loved ones, who said it reminded them of the troubled period before her 2007 breakdown. At that time, Spears lost custody of her sons, Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden James, 19, whom she shares with ex-husband Kevin Federline.
A source told the Daily Mail that there is growing anxiety in her circle. “There’s a lot of concern. Everyone has always wanted the best for her, and she’s showing right now that she’s making bad choices,” the insider said. “It’s terrifying. So there’s a lot of talk about what to do, if anything. How can we protect her from herself?”
Spears also recently made headlines after Federline’s memoir, You Thought You Knew, resurfaced past accusations about her. She has denied his claims, and her spokesperson told Page Six that Federline is “profiting off her” after the end of her child support payments.
Fans are now left wondering why Britney stepped away from Instagram and what might happen next as her loved ones monitor her well-being closely.
