The Department of State stated in a post on X that around 8,000 student visas and 2,500 specialized visas granted to people who had run afoul of US law enforcement were revoked.

“BREAKING: The State Department has now revoked over 100,000 visas, including some 8,000 student visas and 2,500 specialised visas for individuals who had encounters with U.S. law enforcement for criminal activity,” the message stated. The department also claimed that deportations and visa revocations are being utilized as instruments to protect national security. The Department of State continued, “We will continue to deport these thugs to keep America safe,” in the message. The development emphasizes that visa holders must scrupulously adhere to all legal requirements during their stay and highlights the Trump administration’s continuous efforts to enforce compliance with its immigration regulations.
