Iran, Russia and China have announced joint naval exercises in the northern Indian Ocean. According to a report by Iran’s semi-official Tasnim News Agency, Iran, Russia and China will hold joint naval exercises this month. These exercises have been named Maritime Security Belt, and the Iranian Navy, the Revolutionary Guards, the Chinese and Russian navies will participate in these exercises. According to the report, the aim of these exercises is to prepare in advance for any possible attack or threat and to strengthen cooperation between the three countries. These exercises were started regularly by the Iranian Navy in 2019 and these exercises have been held seven times so far. These exercises are being carried out at a time when tensions between Washington and Tehran have increased and the US has A naval fleet has been deployed in the Middle East.
