Months after declaring he was “done” with ink, Adam Levine reveals a fresh tattoo

The frontman of “Maroon 5” is said to have more than thirty tattoos. Just months after announcing in public that he was done getting inked, Adam Levine placed a fresh tattoo to his neck. The 46-year-old frontman of Maroon 5 revealed the ink on Thursday. It included a striking arch of black flowers encircling his preexisting tattoos. Levine explained the significance of the new tattoo on Instagram, writing, “Roses for the reaper.” Nathan Kostechko, a tattoo artist from Los Angeles, created the design. He posted pictures of the procedure on his studio’s Instagram page, saying he gave Levine’s previous work “some love and life.” The singer had a huge butterfly tattooed by Kostechko in 2021.

Levine told in July that he was “done” getting tattoos, citing the agony of a recent sleeve session as the reason for the unexpected addition. Since getting his first tattoo, a dove that represents peace, at the age of 21, Levine has covered the majority of his upper body with artwork. Although some of his tattoos, such as the “Mom” and “Noah” patterns, are personal tributes, he has stated that not all of them have profound significance. Levine stated in his 2013 Sexiest Man Alive interview that he would never tattoo his hands or anything below the waist. However, he eventually disregarded this rule as well, adding the words “true love” to his fingers—a design he has referred to as one of his favorites.
