PPP and PML-N decide to hold important discussions on Punjabi issues: solutions

According to reports, the PPP and PML-N leadership are due to conduct a key meeting today to discuss topics affecting the party’s position and grievances in Punjab. This morning, the meeting’s location and schedule will be decided. According to insiders, the discussions would address the PPP’s concerns about being ignored in Punjab and the lack of advancement on the agreed-upon power-sharing arrangement. According to sources, the PPP’s problems in Punjab and potential fixes would be discussed in order to facilitate better cooperation between the two coalition parties.

Additionally, it was claimed that the President and Prime Minister met earlier this week and decided to start discussions on issues pertaining to Punjab. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif promised President Zardari that every attempt would be made to allay the PPP’s worries about the execution of the Punjab power-sharing agreement, according to PPP sources. The action follows a meeting between President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Aiwan-e-Sadr on Wednesday evening, during which the two leaders discussed the general state of affairs in the region. The president was given an update by the prime minister on his recent trips to Egypt and Malaysia, where he worked to advance peace in Gaza.

Both leaders exchanged views on critical national priorities and the overall direction of the government’s programs, agreeing to continue political talks on subjects of national importance. The meeting was attended by PM’s adviser Rana Sanaullah, Federal Ministers Ahsan Iqbal and Azam Nazeer Tarar, and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar. However, the president was accompanied during the meeting by Senator Saleem Mandviwalla, Senator Sherry Rehman, and Nayyar Bukhari, all of whom are leaders of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).
