Ras Al Khaimah’s Innovation City has become the world’s first free zone fully powered by artificial intelligence, transforming how businesses register and operate in the UAE.
According to CEO Paul Dawalibi, the initiative replaces traditional manual procedures with automated, AI-driven tools to improve speed, scalability, and efficiency. Future plans include digital assistants to help entrepreneurs set up and manage their companies.
Innovation City, formerly known as RAK Digital Assets Oasis (RAK DAO), focuses on five high-growth industries: Web3, digital assets, AI gaming and iGaming, robotics, and digital health. The rebrand aligns with Ras Al Khaimah’s strategy to position itself as a hub for innovation-driven business.
The free zone also aims to attract firms from China, Russia, and India, offering a regulated, tax-efficient base for expansion into global markets. Dawalibi said Innovation City will play a key role in RAK’s economic diversification, fostering new opportunities for startups and creating high-value jobs in emerging tech sectors.
