Six officials are fired by FIA, and thirteen others are punished for corruption and authority abuse

ISLAMABAD: Riffat Mukhtar Raja, the Director General of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), has continued the department’s internal accountability process by disciplining 19 officers and officials on allegations of carelessness, corruption, and abuse of authority. Six officials were fired after departmental investigations, according to a statement released by the Directorate of Internal Accountability. Inspector Maria Niaz, who was fired for unlawfully occupying a government residence and failing to report for duty, was among those fired. Due to his support of a gang engaged in illicit organ trafficking, Sub-Inspector Kashif Riaz Awan was fired.

Constable Asifullah Dutta was removed from service on charges of extortion and illegal searches, while Sub-Inspectors Tasaddaq Hussain and Ahmad Waqar were terminated for conducting illegal raids and making flawed inquiries. Due to his carelessness and involvement in unlawful immigration clearance, Technical Assistant Inayatullah was fired. Inspectors Idrees Khan and Muhammad Arsalan Masood Khan were also downgraded in the pay scale stage for requesting bribes during investigations. Due to his carelessness in his official obligations, Sub-Inspector Sohail Ahmad’s promotion was delayed for a year. Additionally, the agency penalized Sub-Inspectors Shazma Shabbir, Shabana Shamsheer, Umar Farooq, and ASI Farhan Israr for fraudulent immigration clearance by withholding their increments for two years.

Constables Muhammad Shakir, Muhammad Asif, Muhammad Zahid Iqbal, Mudassir Saeed, and Adeel Ahmad were also punished for their role in unlawful immigration clearance by having their increments withheld for a year. Ghulam Khan, a technical assistant, received a warning for disobeying official directives. According to the FIA spokeswoman, departmental accountability serves to maintain the agency’s professional standards, transparency, and integrity. Officers deemed to be careless are penalized appropriately, while authorities engaged in illicit operations are subject to strict action.
