This occurred one week prior to the November release of her new film, Christy, in which she played professional boxer Christy Martin.”I know what it feels like to be underestimated, to have people define you before you’ve had a chance to define yourself,” the Euphoria actress went on to say. I understand what it’s like to have to demonstrate your worth in order to be accepted, acknowledged, and respected.”But every one of us has our own fight, and Christy reminds us all that strength doesn’t look loud sometimes, and sometimes it’s just about getting back up again and again, no matter who’s watching,” she said.”Playing [Martin] taught me that surviving isn’t the end of the story,” Sweeney continued, reflecting on her role. Reclaiming it is just getting started. She concluded by giving advise “to every young girl out there,” saying, “I hope that you know that your power is already within you.” Being daring doesn’t need waiting for approval. To fit in with others, you don’t have to shrink. You can simply get back up if you fall.
