Clarity is welcomed by the UAE Attorney General as both parties improve judicial communication. Abu Dhabi: According to the Office of the Attorney-General of the United Arab Emirates, the Attorney-General spoke with his Turkish counterpart over the phone, and the General Prosecutor of the Republic of Turkiye stated that his nation is prepared to improve channels of communication and strengthen judicial cooperation. The Republic of Turkiye’s General Prosecutor has denied reports that were making the rounds in several media sources regarding the discovery of illegal espionage operations in Istanbul and the attribution of such accusations to the UAE.
The General Prosecutor affirmed that these accusations are wholly untrue after speaking with the appropriate Turkish authorities, including the Office of the Istanbul Deputy Chief Public Prosecutor. The Turkish Attorney General claims that the Turkish Public Prosecution has confirmed that neither the United Arab Emirates nor its citizens have engaged in any illegal or questionable behavior. He mentioned that he met with the Istanbul Deputy Chief Public Prosecutor and other pertinent security officials in the Office of the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor, where the circulating information was quickly examined. No suspicious behavior involving UAE individuals was noted, according to security officials.
The Turkish General Prosecutor also stated that, after confirming that the information being disseminated was false, he instructed the appropriate authorities to take down the accusations made against the United Arab Emirates from media outlets and social media platforms. In this regard, the UAE Attorney-General praised the Turkish Minister of Justice’s statement on Thursday regarding the ongoing investigations in Istanbul, pointing out that it is consistent with the conversations that took place during the phone conversation with the Turkish General Prosecutor and shows the Turkish authorities’ determination to provide clarification and stop rumors from spreading.
