Three people are killed by Russian drone strikes in southern Ukraine: governor

The governor of the region announced early on Thursday that Russian drone strikes in southern Ukraine had killed three persons and injured another overnight.Ivan Fedorov, the governor of Zaporizhzhia, stated, “Unfortunately, two women and a man were killed, and another man was wounded.” In a Telegram thread, he also mentioned that the strikes had set houses on fire.

Deadly assaults

As negotiations struggle to put an end to the nearly four-year conflict, Ukraine has been battered by a string of devastating strikes that have cut power in the dead of winter.

Volodymyr Zelensky, the president of Ukraine, said Sunday would be the next round of negotiations. Additionally, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that follow-up discussions would be held this week and that the US “might” be there. According to Ukrainian police, 16 people were killed nationwide in strikes that occurred overnight on Tuesday and early on Wednesday. On Tuesday, Russian drones attacked a passenger train in eastern Ukraine, killing six people.
