November 10, 2025: The United Arab Emirates expressed its deep solidarity with Brazil after a powerful tornado swept through the southern Brazilian state of Paraná, killing at least six people and injuring hundreds more.
In an official statement, the UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs conveyed heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, the government, and the people of Brazil. The UAE also wished a swift recovery to all the injured and reaffirmed its support during this difficult time.
Storm’s Impact in Paraná
The tornado struck late on Friday, unleashing winds estimated between 180 km/h and 250 km/h (111–155 mph), and left widespread destruction in the town of Rio Bonito do Iguaçu and surrounding municipalities. State authorities reported that more than 750 people were treated for injuries, and over 1,000 residents were displaced, with many homes and buildings severely damaged or destroyed.
Governor Carlos Massa Ratinho Jr. declared three days of mourning for the victims and described the disaster zone as being akin to a “war zone.” Rescue teams continue to search for missing persons amid the rubble.
