November 12, 2025: Her Excellency Lana Zaki Nusseibeh, UAE Minister of State, concluded a high-level official visit to Nicosia, where she met with key Cypriot leaders, including President Nikos Christodoulides and Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos. The discussions reaffirmed the United Arab Emirates’ and the Republic of Cyprus’ commitment to deepening strategic cooperation in areas spanning humanitarian diplomacy, energy, and multilateral engagement.
During her visit, Minister Nusseibeh also visited the Port of Limassol to review the Amalthea Maritime Corridor, a joint UAE-Cyprus humanitarian initiative delivering aid to Gaza. The initiative has delivered more than 27,000 tons of assistance to date, highlighting the UAE’s role in global humanitarian efforts.
Both countries discussed strategic cooperation ahead of Cyprus’ upcoming EU Presidency in 2026, and committed to advancing a broad bilateral partnership covering clean energy, digital infrastructure, tourism, and culture. The move underscores the UAE–Cyprus alliance as a model of constructive regional diplomacy.
