Uber is set to bring Joby Aviation’s flying taxis to its app, allowing users to book aerial rides without downloading separate applications. This move follows Joby’s acquisition of Blade Air Mobility’s passenger services for up to $125 million, expanding the company’s urban air mobility offerings in key cities worldwide.
Dubai is among the first cities slated to benefit from this innovation, with the Road and Transport Authority (RTA) partnering with Joby to launch air taxi services by early 2026. Joby has already conducted piloted test flights in the city, showcasing its electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, which can carry four passengers at speeds up to 200 mph.
The integration of Joby’s flying taxis into Uber’s platform positions Dubai as a leader in urban air mobility. Residents and visitors can look forward to faster, cleaner, and more efficient transportation, marking a significant step toward mainstream adoption of zero-emission aerial rides.
