Hegseth: By reiterating US military deterrence, Trump had given foes a clear signal. Washington: Citing attacks, deployments, and tough action against drug traffickers and pirates, President Donald Trump and his Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth stated that the administration is reasserting US military deterrence. “At the Department of War, that meant reestablishing deterrence,” Hegseth stated. He suggested hostilities such as Afghanistan, Ukraine and the October 7 incident in Israel would not have occurred under Trump.
He claimed that enemies had received a clear signal from the administration. Hegseth stated, “President Trump meant it when he said, Iran, you won’t have a nuclear bomb.” “And they never noticed that we sent those B-2s halfway around the world.” Military activities, drug interdiction Hegseth also connected drug interdiction with military operations. “When you stated that drug trafficking will no longer be tolerated… He meant it and we’re executing that,” he said. According to Trump, narcotics smugglers and maritime traffickers receive the same treatment. He declared, “Anyone who does—that gets the same treatment as a drug dealer.”
He asserted that drug flows by sea had sharply decreased. Trump stated, “As you know, it’s 97% down by water.” According to Trump, piracy has decreased as well. He remarked, “We haven’t seen anyone going out so far.” “Pirating is extremely rare these days.” He explained the targeting of warships. Trump declared, “They get the same missile.” Trump expanded on his assertion. He declared, “We just saved 25,000 American lives with every boat that comes in with drugs on it that we take out.” Hegseth complimented a recent procedure. He declared, “No other military in the world could have carried out the most sophisticated, powerful raid… in world history.”
Hegseth is “totally authorized.” Hegseth has been “totally authorized” to implement the program, according to Trump. Over the past year, the Trump administration has presented its strategy as reestablishing American credibility and strength in a number of areas, including the Middle East, the Western Hemisphere, and international maritime routes. The US defense posture continues to include maritime security and counter-narcotics operations, which include collaboration with allies and the deployment of military resources outside of conventional combat zones.
